A recent proposal was released by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) that would ban all non-compete clauses. The Business News article, "Interpreting antitrust law" gives insight into why the proposal is important, what the changes will be for businesses, why the clause is being proposed now and how businesses can prepare.

Anthony Steffek who was interviewed for the article was asked for his legal input on the proposed clause and what impact he thinks it will have on employees and employers. “It wouldn’t be too far off base to think this effort caters, in a way, to that younger generation. I don’t know, though, how big of an impact this will have, as it is rare that younger workers, newer to the workforce, are asked to sign true non-competition agreements.”
