In Bitcoin Magazine, Joe Carlasare writes about the latest draft of the infrastructure bill, which may be concerning to the Bitcoin community. The bill contains broad definitions of “digital assets” and “brokers” of digital assets, and does not provide any guidance for tax purposes. One possible reason may be that legislators lack enough understanding of Bitcoin, so while the Bitcoin community has been hesitant to lobby the government, that may be changing soon.
