Overview
Madie identifies with the challenges her clients face, having a deep understanding of the innerworkings of the media, entertainment, and hospitality industries. Prior to being a lawyer, she worked for four years as a television producer for several national networks. She is also a musician and has been personally embedded in every facet of the process—from recording and producing to registering copyrights, protecting intellectual property, and releasing music across all major platforms. She counsels musicians and entertainers, providing legal guidance and personalized strategies related to the creation, promotion and protection of music, copyrights and overarching creative pursuits.
Today, Madie draws from her personal experiences to offer her clients tailored and shrewd advice. She defends free speech through her representation of media and corporate clients and the defense of defamation, libel and false light suits. In the hospitality industry, Madie represents restaurant, tavern, and hotel owners facing risk issues and litigation. She defends establishments in claims concerning the Dram Shop Act, negligence, and intentional torts.
