Overview
Alyssa successfully defended a Michigan motor carrier against a personal injury claim that arose out of a multiple vehicle accident in Kentucky. The plaintiffs' attorneys attempted to file in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, given the better law for recovery of damages, even though there was little connection to the county. Alyssa and team filed a motion to dismiss the carrier and its drive arguing there was no personal jurisdiction over the clients and asserting the doctrine of forum non conveniens. The court dismissed the complaints in their entirety.
