Overview

We were retained to defend a major Wisconsin contractor in an arbitration brought by the project’s general contractor. The claims were generally that our client was responsible for damages caused when a fire suppression system was activated and caused property damage. The arbitrator dismissed all of claimant’s claims with prejudice noting that the evidence did not prove that our client caused the damages. Opposing counsel had refused to engage in pre-arbitration settlement talks or take anything lower than full damages and attorneys’ fees.
