Overview

Lillian successfully challenged a major landlord's longstanding eviction filing practices. On behalf of her client, she filed a motion to dismiss on the basis that the landlord’s complaint failed to state a claim with adequate specificity. The circuit court granted the motion, resulting in dismissal of the client's case and requiring the landlord to amend and re-serve more than 200 pending eviction complaints. The appellate court later upheld this decision.
