We are proud to congratulate Larry James, Managing Partner of our Columbus Operations, on being named the 2026 Individual Advocate Champion by CreativeOhio as part of its annual Champion Advocacy Awards. CreativeOhio recognizes individuals, organizations, businesses, and community leaders who strengthen Ohio's arts, culture, and creative sector through exceptional advocacy, leadership, and public support.
For more than four decades, Larry has been a respected leader across Columbus' business, legal, civic, and philanthropic communities. In addition to his accomplished legal career, Larry has dedicated significant time and energy to advancing arts and culture throughout Central Ohio. His leadership includes serving as Chair of the Gateway Film Center, President of the Lincoln Theatre Association Board, and President of the King Arts Complex, as well as providing leadership to the Greater Columbus Arts Council and the Columbus Museum of Art.
CreativeOhio highlighted Larry's enduring commitment to fostering a vibrant and inclusive cultural community, along with his broader civic impact through initiatives such as co-founding the African American Leadership Academy and helping establish the Columbus Bar Association's minority clerkship program.
According to CreativeOhio, Larry's decades of service exemplify "the enduring power of arts advocacy to strengthen communities."
The Champion Advocacy Awards will be presented on October 14, 2026, at the Palace Theatre in Columbus.
