Amundsen Davis Partner Max Goodman sat down with Good Day Chicago to discuss the verdict in the recent landmark social media addiction trial, in which Meta and Google were found liable for intentionally building addictive social media platforms that harmed a young user’s mental health.
“These cases are about holding social media companies responsible for foreseeable harm,” explained Goodman. “There’s a federal law that provides a broad immunity shield for these social media companies. But what these cases show is that this shield actually now has some holes in it.”
