Electronic Logging Devices (“ELD”): Yet Another Avenue for a Cyber Attack?

Molly Arranz recently published an article in The Transportation Lawyer discussing ransomware attacks in the transportation industry. In the article titled, “Electronic Logging Devices (‘ELD’): Yet Another Avenue for a Cyber Attack?” Molly explains how electronic logging devices and the mandate to have them in fleet vehicles has left businesses more susceptible to hackers. In the article Molly states, “cyber security concerns will persist and, likely even, increase with the adoption of recently-adopted technologies like ELDs.” She also discusses steps carriers should take to minimize their risk of being hacked.
