 | 1:15 PM - 2:30 PM

The #MeToo movement has not only increased awareness regarding sexual harassment in the workplace; it has also brought forth a reevaluation of the Illinois Human Rights Act and the obligations of governmental entities under the same. This reevaluation resulted in the creation of both an Illinois Senate and Illinois House Senate Task Force on Sexual Harassment.

During her session at the Illinois Public Employer Labor Relations Association's (IPELRA) 40th Annual Conference, Julie Proscia, member of the Illinois Senate Task Force on Sexual Harassment, provides an update on the current status of the Illinois House Task Force debate and discussion regarding sexual harassment legislation, as well as insight into the new training and policy obligations, and tips and best practices to avoid liability and litigation.
