No employer is immune from facing harassment and discrimination claims in the workplace, however, employers can take steps to reduce claims and legal challenges. The Illinois Chamber of Commerce will host a half-day training titled, "Preventing and Handling Workplace Harassment and Discrimination," on January 25 featuring Jeff Risch.

Topics for discussion will include:

  • If the "victim" does not complain, do I still have to investigate?
  • Confidential investigations: what can or should i say to the victim, the harasser and to other employees or witnesses?
  • Should i prepare a written investigative report, what should be included & will it help or hurt?

The half day training is ideal for supervisors and managers.
