We are pleased to announce that John Pienkos and Tom Pienkos have joined our Intellectual Property Practice Group in our Milwaukee office as partners. These two experienced attorneys, joining from Husch Blackwell, will contribute to the firm's depth of intellectual property capabilities and our ability to serve our clients.

John Pienkos will co-chair the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group with Lisa Bridge. He prepares and prosecutes domestic and foreign patent applications in complicated technologies and advises clients on corporate transactions involving the purchase or sale of intellectual property assets.  He prepares patent opinions and provides guidance regarding the scope of intellectual property rights, and counsels clients in the area of post-grant proceedings such as inter partes review proceedings.

Tom Pienkos counsels clients on the strategic protection, licensing and enforcement of intellectual property rights and develops and negotiates licensing, cooperation and joint development agreements relating to a variety of technologies. He conducts intellectual property due diligence investigations for corporate mergers, acquisitions and refinancing and drafts and negotiates patent licenses, nondisclosures and joint development agreements. He represents clients in the industrial manufacturing industry, developing and participating in patent review committees charged with strategically evaluating inventions for possible patent prosecution.

“John and Tom are a welcome addition to our team," said Lisa Bridge, who worked with John and Tom for many years at Husch Blackwell. "Their extensive background will not only help us to continue to grow and strengthen the bench of our intellectual property practice, but provide our clients the highest quality of legal services."
