We are pleased to announce that immigration attorneys Filip Chichevaliev and Theresia Ortiz and have joined the firm as of counsel in its Labor & Employment Service Group. The duo brings substantial experience representing individual and business clients in a wide range of immigration law matters throughout the United States.

Filip’s practice centers on employment-based immigration and family reunification. He counsels businesses on visa strategy, PERM labor certifications, and cross-border operations. He also represents individuals pursuing family-sponsored immigration benefits, assisting with green card applications, removal of conditions petitions, and immigration court proceedings. Filip is admitted to the Missouri bar. He earned an LL.M. in trial advocacy from Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology after earning a law degree in Macedonia.

Theresia assists businesses and individuals securing a wide range of U.S. visas, including H-1B, H-2B, L-1, P, O, and E. She represents clients seeking permanent residents through family sponsorship and advocates for the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the Executive Office for Immigration Review, and immigration court. Theresia is licensed to practice law in Illinois and California and is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. She earned a J.D. from the University of the Pacific – McGeorge School of Law and a B.S. from the University of Chicago.
