Katie Falkenberg

Katie has successfully litigated complex cases on behalf of corporate clients for almost 30 years. She routinely counsels clients on insurance-related matters involving policy drafting, coverage analysis, claims handling, litigation strategy, and dispute resolution. Katie has extensive experience interpreting and advising on complex contractual indemnity and risk-transfer provisions and their interplay with insurance coverage obligations. She regularly advises and advocates for clients in connection with toxic and mass tort claims, environmental claims, property damage claims, product liability claims, professional liability claims, and extra-contractual matters.

Katie's insurance coverage experience spans a broad range of policy forms, including commercial general liability, excess and umbrella liability, products liability, hybrid casualty products, errors and omissions, directors and officers, lawyers professional liability, and employment practices liability policies. She represents insurers and corporate clients nationwide in coverage disputes, mediations, and litigation seeking damages and declaratory relief, and provides strategic guidance throughout the claims process to mitigate risk and minimize exposure.

In addition, Katie has significant experience managing professional liability claims on a national basis for insurers and corporate clients. In that role, she assesses coverage, drafts coverage position letters, oversees defense counsel across multiple jurisdictions, develops litigation and resolution strategies, attends mediations, and works closely with insureds and claim professionals to resolve matters efficiently and effectively. Her experience spans all stages of the claims process, from pre-suit investigation and early resolution efforts through active litigation and settlement.

When not working, Katie enjoys spending time with her husband, three children, and dog. She is actively involved in her local parish school and community and volunteers with local charitable organizations.
