Daniel has deep experience in transaction advisory, high-stakes tax controversy, and regulatory matters spanning private practice and government service. He advises multinational corporations, partnerships, private equity firms, financial institutions, investment funds, REITs, and other businesses on complex tax matters. As a member of the firm's Tax Service Group, Daniel's practice covers corporate and partnership tax, international tax, transfer pricing, digital assets, mergers and acquisitions, energy credits, and tax issues affecting emerging and evolving industries. He works with clients to address challenges efficiently, manage tax risk, and position their organizations for long-term success in a rapidly changing tax environment.
Daniel brings perspective shaped by senior-level government and tax advisory experience. Before joining the firm, he served as a senior attorney with the IRS Office of Chief Counsel, where he led high-stakes transaction advisory, tax controversy, and regulatory matters involving multinational corporations and business enterprises while contributing to tax policy and guidance affecting businesses, investors, and markets across the country and around the world. Having helped lead the very IRS cadres that examine business structures, transactions, and tax matters, his understanding of IRS enforcement priorities, examination strategies, and dispute resolution processes helps clients evaluate potential outcomes, respond effectively to government scrutiny, and pursue business opportunities with greater confidence.
