Overview
Growing up, Joey (she/her) knew she wanted a career that allowed her to make an impact. As an attorney with nearly a decade of experience, she now uses her knowledge and voice to make a difference for her clients and their businesses.
Joey approaches client relationships with authenticity and empathy. As a member of the firm’s Labor & Employment Service Group, she enjoys working with business owners—individuals who have worked hard to create a legacy, provide for their families, and create jobs within their communities—to preserve and protect their biggest asset. Joey thoughtfully represents employers facing a variety of employment issues, including hiring and firing, discrimination and harassment, compensation, and discipline. She also helps them navigate local, state, and federal employment laws and advises on sound strategies to remain in compliance.
Joey also works closely with financial institutions, defending them in front of the EEOC and other administrative tribunals. She assists with preparing and reviewing a variety of documents including employment policies, handbooks, and compensation contracts.
Outside the office, Joey is dedicated to using her voice to serve her community through volunteerism and pro bono work. She is especially passionate about causes that serve children in need. Joey enjoys spending time with her husband, Dwayne, their two daughters, and their four-legged best friend, a pug named Ron. In her limited free time, she finds joy in creating stained glass art.
