Overview

We represented a law enforcement officer and municipality in federal district court against accusations that the officer violated an individual’s constitutional rights. The officer and municipality were facing a lawsuit for damages under 42 U.S.C. § 1983.  At the federal district court level, we represented the parties from answering the complaint and through discovery. We successfully retained dismissal of the claims at the summary judgment stage. When the individual appealed the dismissal to the Seventh Circuit, we represented our client at the court of appeals, including briefing, oral arguments and an en banc oral argument before the entire Seventh Circuit.
