Overview
For Jorie, practicing law is more than a career—it is the fulfillment of a promise she made to herself when she was eight years old. After being captivated by the investigations, arguments, strategy, and pursuit of justice she saw on an episode of Law & Order, she proudly announced to her mom that she was going to be a lawyer one day and from that day onward, she sought out opportunities to grow the skills she'd need in pursuit of that goal.
Jorie brings that same dedication and passion to the clients she represents as a member of the firm's Health Care Service Group. Her practice focuses primarily on the defense of hospitals, nursing facilities, long-term care facilities, and medical practitioners in medical malpractice, wrongful death claims, and denial-of-care claims. Jorie also represents hospitals, religious institutions, and nonprofit organizations facing complex and sensitive sexual abuse claims. Known for her proactive and meticulous preparation, she builds strong cases by anticipating challenges, creating detailed case timelines and roadmaps, and keeping her clients informed through every step of the process. With experience across the public and private sectors, Jorie has experience representing clients in complex civil matters before federal and state courts.
