Michael Cortina's article, "Protecting Aircraft Collateral Protects Lenders," is featured in the April 2026 issue of the Illinois State Bar Association's Commercial Banking, Collections and Bankruptcy publication.

The article details how lenders can protect their businesses when providing aircraft loans. Michael states, "Counsel for lenders should strongly encourage that their clients require aircraft borrowers have their aircraft be enrolled in a bank-approved engine program as part of the loan agreement. Such a requirement protects the bank by protecting the collateral."
