Labor and Employment, Municipal, and School and Higher Education Teams hosted the firm’s 43rd Annual Public Officials Program for veteran and newly-elected public officials and administrators on April 28, 2021. Given the COVID-19 pandemic, the seminar was hosted via webcast.

Our attorneys updated public officials regarding:

  • COVID-19 Challenges: Vaccinations & Employment, EEOC Latest Guidance & Policies
  • Public Records/Open Meetings Update, Including Related COVID-19 Factors
  • Municipal Statutory Immunity – Case Law Update
  • Environmental Law: PFAS Basics, Including WMC Lawsuit Over DNR’s Authority to Regulate

The program concluded with a panel of attorneys collaborating on responses to the questions regarding the various topics presented as well as addressed any other issues of interest to public officials.

City council members, town and village board members, county board members, mayors, county executives, municipal administrators, human resource professionals, school board members, school administrators, and others who have an interest in public sector issues will benefit from attending this program.  The program will be particularly helpful to newly-elected public officials.
