Overview
Formerly a nursing assistant and pharmacy technician, Moses has a deep understanding of the health care industry. As co-chair of the firm’s Health Care Service Group, he focuses his practice on the representation of hospitals, health care professionals, medical groups, and long term care facilities. His extensive malpractice litigation experience includes adverse maternal and fetal outcomes, emergency room care, and complex vascular injuries. Moses also represents medical professionals before state licensing boards.
Moses advises clients on interpretation and compliance with state and federal health care regulations as well as risk reduction and crisis management. He collaborates with his clients to develop and implement policies to increase efficiency and to promote a culture of safety. When his clients are faced with a surrogate decision making crisis, Moses also provides probate and guardianship services.
Moses frequently presents on practice improvement, informed consent, and medical documentation on both a national and state level. He’s the first Latino President of the Lesbian and Gay Bar Association of Chicago. Prior to attending law school, Moses served in a variety of government-related positions, including as chief of staff to a Texas county commissioner. He is fluent in Spanish.
Moses earned the Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) designation from the Compliance Certification Board. CHC certification demonstrates knowledge of federal healthcare regulations, including Medicare, HIPAA, DEA, and FDA. Moses assists health care industry organizations in compliance procedures to understand, address, and implement legal obligations and to promote organizational integrity through operation of effective compliance programs.
